At Florida Marine Specialists, we proudly carry forward a legacy built on hard work, resilience, and deep roots in Florida’s marine industry. What started with a cattle rancher named Gary Stover, a true cowboy whose land was split in half by the construction of I-75, transformed into a pioneering marine construction venture. When the land was no longer an option, Gary turned to the water — founding G. Stover Marine, the first marine contracting company in Punta Gorda and one of the key players in the development of the PGI canals. He became known as the original Saltwater Cowboy — and a legacy was born.
Today, that legacy lives on through Florida Marine Specialists, led by a third-generation marine contractor with over 60 years of combined experience between father and son, and over 80 years of family heritage in the marine construction industry. Our name is new, but our hands have shaped Florida’s coastline for generations.
We specialize in vinyl seawalls, erosion control, docks, bridges & bulkheads, and boat lifts, offering top-tier marine construction services backed by decades of knowledge and coastal expertise.
